The immediate past chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress in Ogun state, Comrade Akeem Ambali has described the enmity between him and former governor Ibikunle Amosun as a ladder to achieve his dreams.
Ambali maintained that the acclaimed wickedness of Amosun led him to his promise land by making him see another dimension to life.
The former NLC chairman made this claim during a special thanksgiving service held at his home town in Ijebu-Mushin to mark the successful completion of his eight years as the the labour leader.
Ambali was the first person to serve as the chairman of Ogun NLC for eight years.
He explained that he started seeing opportunities that make him achieve his dream during the time he was suspended and dismissed from the civil service by Amosun.
He also insisted that if not for the enmity Amosun had for him, he wouldn’t have venture into other things that is now bringing profit for him.
He said, “God used Amosun to take me to promise land.
“If not for the wickedness of Amosun, I wouldn’t have discover other opportunities that can bring me money”.
Narrating his experience during the eight years as the NLC chairman, Ambali attributed the success of his administration to the grace of God.
He stressed that there are many period he escaped assassination and death just because he stood his ground of not compromising the union.
He added, “I am here to testify to the mighty and power of God that save me during turbulent period as NLC chairman.
“If not for the grace of God, I would have become a thing of the past.
“There were times I escaped death when the acclaimed mighty people wanted to kill me.
“There are times we need to create accidents so as to escaped assassinations.
“We rejected their bribe and stood our ground to fight for the welfare of workers.
“I was detained unjustly for three months when they framed me for murder”.
In her reaction, the presiding pastor, Mrs. Shade Banjo described Ambali as someone who is ready to sacrifice all personal interest for Labour’s welfare.
Banjo attributed the successful completion of Ambali’s tenure to God’s favour.
