Fresh report reaching newsmen has it that the Kwara State All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Mr Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has won the governorship election held on Saturday, thus making it a double defeat for PDP Chieftain in the state and former governor, Senate President Bukola Saraki.
He polled 331,546 votes to emerge as the winner of the highly anticipated election.
His Peoples Democratic Party counterpart, Mr Abdulrazaq Atunwa, polled 114, 754 votes to emerge as the runner – up in the election .
From the official results declared in all 16 local government areas in the state, Abdulrazaq led Atunwa with a margin of 216, 792 votes.
Notably, the APC beat the PDP in all the local government areas.
In addition, the All Progressives Congress, APC, also cleared all the twenty four seats in the Kwara State House of Assembly.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Kwara, Garba Attahiru-Madami, said all the seats have been won by the APC.
Meanwhile, despite the presence of party representatives at the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, where the results were being announced, those of the PDP boycotted the venue.
Recall that Senate President Bukola Saraki also lost his re-election bid to the National Assembly in the presidential and NASS election conducted a forthnight ago to another APC opponent.
