The Ogun State PDP governorship candidate, Senator Buruji Kashamu, Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) governorship candidate, Ademola Ogunbanjo and the Ogun State PDP Chairman, Engr. Bayo Dayo have commended INEC over the conduct of the presidential and National Assembly elections.
Kashamu who voted at his Ijebu-Igbo ward expressed satisfaction with the turn out of electorate despite the postponement last week.
Kashamu said the rigorous campaign against vote buying by INEC has minimally reduced financial inducement by politicians which resulted in the peaceful conduct of the election process.
Also speaking, the ANN governorship candidate, said the determination by the electorate to elect new leaders has helped in reducing the violence and political thuggery.
Ogunbanjo who spoke with newsmen at his Igbaare ward at Moslem Primary school, Ijebu-Igbo alluded voters sensitization as factor responsible for the orderliness at the voting centres.
The State PDP Chairman expressed satisfaction with the security arrangement at the polling units, attributing the peaceful conduct to tight security on ground.
Dayo who argued that though voting is part of the election process hence he hope all other processes would follow suit.
His words: “Pdp, so far, the voting is going on peacefully and INEC doing a thorough job. I think it is a good beginning. We heard news of people buying money. The turn out is massive.”
The Deputy Director – General of Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Dr. Babatunde Ipaye also commended the conduct of the election, saying it was violence free poll.
He disclosed that the turn-out was massive and impressive, insisting that the people are highly in tune with the election as well as perform their civic responsibility.
