Ogun Labour Party adopts Buhari, Abiodun as candidates


The Ogun State chapter of Labour Party on Thursday said it has adopted President Muhammadu Buhari and Prince Dapo Abiodun as its Presidential and gubernatorial candidates in the forthcoming general election.

The State Chairman of the Party Comrade Abayomi Olufemi Arabambi while briefing newsmen after the State Executives meeting of the Party said the Party has directed its members to vote for Prince Dapo Abiodun in the March 2nd governorship elections.

Abayomi Arabambi said the Party is adopting Dapo Abiodun as its gubernatorial candidate following the exclusion of Labour Party from fielding candidate for its gubernatorial position.

“Therefore we don’t have a choice than to realign with somebody who is in tandem with our manifesto”
“Since we are adopting his gubernatorial candidate in Ogun state. We also have to adopt the Presidential candidate of the Party, President Muhammadu Buhari.

“The Party find Prince Dapo Abiodun suitable for the position of Governor”.

The meeting was really engineered by former house of Reps member, Abiodun Akinlade, and Chief Bode Mustapha.

At the meeting, we agreed that we are going to adopt Prince Dapo Abiodun as our gubernatorial candidate, and President Muhammadu Buhari as Our Presidential candidate
In return, they will also vote for Our candidates.

Like in Abeokuta South, they too have adopted Hon Segun Williams as their candidate while we will also vote for Hon Olumide Osoba in Abeokuta North, Odeda and Obafemi Owode federal constituency.
The APC is also adopting Sina Aroyewun”as its Senatorial candidate for Ogun Central”.

He said that the national chairman of the Party will do the official declaration after the Presidential election.
