The Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) has commended the decision of Senator Ibikunle Amosun’s led administration for appointing an engineer to be the number one Civil Servant in Ogun State.
Chairman of the State branch of NSE, Engr. (Dr.) Olanrewaju Apampa, stated this during the Society’s visit to the Office of the State Head of Service, Engr. Lanre Bisiriyu in Abeokuta, saying he would be the first engineer to be saddled with that responsibility.
Congratulating Engr. Bisiriyu on his new appointment, Apampa said, “We are not surprised at your elevation to the top office, the first Engineer to be appointed; considering your training, experience, skills and resourcefulness in other spheres of life. We thank His Excellency, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, for recognising these qualities,” Apampa said.
The Chairman expressed the society’s willingness to partner with the State Government to train Engineers in the Civil Service for optimal job delivery.
He noted that areas of cooperation with the State government would include; training on electrical distribution and controls, auto change over, variable speed drivers and substations, pneumatic and hydraulic reciprocating system, building information modelling and material testing in highway and structural engineering among others.
Responding, Engr. Bisiriyu, appreciated the society for the visit and its support to the government at all times, pledging to uphold the ethics of the profession.
